Bank Rate is the Bank of England's policy interest rate, published in the Bank's statistical database as series IUDBEDR, with a daily history from 1975. The Monetary Policy Committee sets it and announces changes on decision dates; between decisions the rate is flat, which is why the chart is drawn as steps. Bank Rate is the rate the Bank pays on reserves held with it and is the anchor for sterling money-market rates, but it is not itself a mortgage or savings rate.
Read the headline value with its as-of date, then the "versus the previous reading" line: when Bank Rate has been unchanged for a stretch, the page shows the date of the last actual move instead. Mean, median, low and high are arithmetic summaries of the daily observations in this build, so a long hold at one level pulls them toward it. Chart and Table show the same data two ways; the range buttons only filter what is drawn, and Explore adds zoom and pan on request. The Taiwan desk leads with the CBC discount rate, the policy rate set by the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan), then US, Japan and Korea rates, with the rest following. The discount rate is read from the CBC Statistical Database as series EG28D01en and drawn as daily steps: the rate is flat between board meetings and changes on decision dates. It is a policy instrument, not a mortgage or deposit rate.
All desks show the same build-wide series in a different order, so the numbers here match the hub. Values are republished from official files without alteration and each page names the source and licence. The build ingests no Taiwanese retail rate series, so those pages are absent rather than estimated. This is not financial advice, and readings may lag their source.
