What to write about
The most useful messages point out a specific figure that disagrees with its official source. We also welcome reports of official links that have moved or been renamed, licence or attribution wording that needs correcting, pages that fail to load or render, and privacy requests under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
We are also glad to hear from readers who want to know how a series is read, why a particular file was chosen, or which table supplied a number — as long as the question is about the published data rather than a personal decision.
What to include
For a data question, include the page address, the series name, the date of the reading, the value shown, the value you expected, and the official file you checked it against. Every series page names its table, series identifier, licence and local filename at the foot of the article, so a citation is easy to copy. A link to the source, or a short quotation from it, helps us confirm the position quickly.
For a link or licence issue, include the page and the exact text or address that is wrong. For a privacy request, say what personal information you believe we hold and what you want us to do. Please do not send loan applications, complaints about a bank’s products, or requests for personal financial advice — we cannot help with those, and we do not hold account information for any reader.
How corrections work
Every figure on this site is read from the official files when the site is built. When a report arrives we check the source first. If the page has misread or mislabelled a value we correct the build and regenerate the site. If the source itself has revised a series, the page shows the revised value the next time it is rebuilt. We do not overwrite source values by hand, and we do not add a figure that no official source publishes.
Response and licensing
This is a small publication, so we cannot promise a reply time or a reply to every message. A correction, once made, appears the next time the site is rebuilt; pages are not edited silently between builds.
The underlying data belongs to the central banks and statistical agencies named on each page and is used under the licence printed there — for example the Bank of England’s open-data terms, the ESCB statistics reuse policy for ECB series, the BIS terms for compiled policy rates, and the RBNZ statistics terms. Younivi’s own selection, layout and explanatory text may be quoted in short extracts with attribution and a link, but not resold or presented as your own. If you are unsure whether a planned use is allowed, ask the original producer as well as us.
