About this desk

The Sweden desk leads with the Riksbank policy rate, styrräntan, from the BIS central bank policy rate series for Sweden, then Norway, ECB and UK rates. Since 1994 the series is the repo rate; earlier stretches splice the marginal rate and the discount rate, which were the policy instruments of their day. The BIS stitches them into one comparable series, drawn as daily steps. It is a policy rate, not a retail lending rate.

All desks show the same official series in a different order, so the numbers do not change when you switch. Values are republished with attribution to the BIS; this site is not an official BIS publication.
